What to Watch For

Jazzmun Holmes setting the pace

Holmes, who has emerged as one of the team’s prime leaders is an all around point guard with a multitude of weapons on both ends of the floor. Though she may not be a score first point guard, Holmes can fill the stat line at will. With averages of 8.2 points and 5.1 assists along with 41 steals thus far, Holmes is a dynamic weapon in any aspect.

Bre’Amber Scott as a scorer

Following Chloe Bibby’s injury, Scott stepped in and stepped up to fill the void. Her 15 points in Thursday’s win at Florida showed that she can be relied on going forward. Look for Scott to get more minutes and post double digits tonight in Starkville.

Teaira McCowan on defense

While McCowan is a force to be reckoned with on the boards, expect a few blocks and even a couple of steals tonight. McCowan is a walking double double and should post yet another. She has, is, and will be the key to Mississippi State’s success this season, as McCowan has shown no signs of slowing down.

Prediction

Mississippi State wins big 89-63.
