Good morning, Stark Vegas: Men’s basketball struggles, women’s basketball is still very good

It’s been two different stories for State women’s and men’s basketball.

Associated Press

Good morning, Stark Vegas! Men’s basketball is up and down at the moment and every time there’s a glimmer of hope, something happens to smash that.

But hey, women’s basketball is still a title contender and baseball season is coming up.

MBB loses to Alabama

Down 12 at the half, the Bulldogs made a comeback bid that ultimately fell short. State shot 3-for-19 from 3-point range, and I’m not a math major, but that’s not a good percentage. What’s even worse is that the Tide went 1-for-15! Next up for head coach Ben Howland’s squad is a trip to Ole Miss.

Women’s basketball prepares for LSU

The high-flying Lady Bulldogs head to Baton Rouge, LA, tomorrow to face the 12-7 (3-4 SEC) LSU Tigers. I’m not saying it’s a for sure win, but MSU shouldn’t have any issues.

Where MSU’s pitching stands

Read this article from the Clarion Ledger about MSU pitching. Pretty interested read. I’m getting more excited for baseball season as each day continues.

So, let’s talk about some other games. What teams have you guys been watching this season? Duke is an obvious one, but I’ve always loved watching Virginia play (as a James Madison student, I might get in trouble for that one).

Have a good day, stay warm and Hail State!
