Mississippi State edges Marquette 74-68

In a hard-fought battle with the Golden Eagles, the Bulldogs came out victorious.

While an unexpected upset nearly took place, the Bulldogs found a way to show up when it mattered most.

Of the four starters in double figures, Jessika Carter continues to assert herself as a formidable center, having posted another double double. Her 14 points and 21 rebounds proved to be the overall difference, as the Golden Eagles had no answer down low.

Jordan Danberry, the Bulldogs most reliable weapon posted 20 points and came up big defensively with seven steals. Rickea Jackson and Chloe Bibby added 11 apiece, while Andra Espinoza-Hunter made her presence felt with 13.

Having committed just 13 turnovers on the night, the Bulldogs forced 28. Though they shined defensively, every point was earned the hard way. Expect a turnaround on Thursday against San Francisco.
