One of many new faces in the starting lineup, Carter’s talent and numbers shall not be overlooked.
Against Lubbock Christian, Carter imposed her will and commanded the paint. She led the team in points with 27 and rebounds with 13. Having added a pair of blocks, Carter boasted an all-round game.
Standing at 6-foot-5, Carter will be a problem for the Golden Eagles down low. Likely to be matched up with redshirt senior Amber Landing, expect Carter to win a hard-fought battle. That said, Landing is 6-foot-4 with experience, as Carter will be put to the test.
Based on the stat line alone, there is every reason to believe that Carter should post her second Double double. As the Bulldogs lost one of their best in Teaira McCowan to the WNBA, Carter is next in line at forward. Though she has massive shoes to fill, Carter looks the part on both ends of the floor and at the line.
While head coach Vic Schaefer played Carter for 29 minutes against the Chaps, we have yet to see how long she will be on the floor going forward. Though Carter is still a sophomore, she looks to be playing beyond her years. Expect a big day from Carter.
Hail State!
