Mississippi State Women’s Basketball blazes by Southern Miss 91-58

Having put on an offensive show, the Bulldogs had the Golden Eagles number from the get go.

The Bulldogs look to be a complete team with the perfect combination of experience and talent.

Three of five starters were in double figures with forward Chloe Bibby leading the way with 16 points and six rebounds. Jessika Carter added 12 along with nine boards, six on the defensive end. Though Golden Eagle center Kelsey Jones put up 12 points and five boards, Carter ultimately won the battle down low.

Myah Taylor continues to develop into an all-round point guard. Her eight points, five assists and three steals are signs of big things to come from the redshirt sophomore. Freshman guards Aliyah Matharu and Jamya Mingo-Young combined for 24 points. The two should be a formidable duo going forward.

Though they had their way with the Golden Eagles, the Bulldogs committed 21 total turnovers. Look for head coach Vic Schaefer to address the issue immediately, as that number should decrease significantly against Tennessee Martin on Monday.
