Good afternoon, Stark Vegas: Baseball is back!

It’s been too long, but the wait is finally over. State baseball is back!

USA TODAY

Good afternoon, Stark Vegas! I’ve been waiting for what seems like forever to write this, but here it is: Baseball’s off-season is DONE. Finished. It’s back and (hopefully) better than ever. That being said, there were some other results from these past few days, one of which was a shock to the nation.

Women’s Basketball upset by Missouri

This one was a stunner. The Lady Bulldogs’ 32-game home winning streak and 26-game SEC win streak has been snapped. Mizzou shot 55.1 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from 3-point land. MSU, now 22-2 (10-1 SEC), will turn its attention to Texas A&M on Sunday.

Softball goes 1-2 in two days

A 4-1 loss to Southern Illinois and 7-5 loss to Washington had the Lady Bulldogs off to a less-than-stellar start to the weekend. An 8-5 win over Sacramento State helped them get back on track. They’ll face Central Florida later today.

Men’s Tennis handed first loss of the season

In the ITA National Team Indoor Championship, Mississippi State fell short of TCU 4-1.

Baseball gets off to a commanding start

Heading into the eighth inning, it was 3-3. Then, a casual 11-run inning sent the Bulldogs to a 14-3 victory over Youngstown State. Tanner Allen had four RBIs, Elijah Macnamee had three and both Rowdey Jordan and Jordan Westburg had two. The Bulldogs will play the Penguins in a double-header today.

There’s lots of games today, so sit back and enjoy! Have a good day and Hail State!
