Good afternoon, Stark Vegas! This past weekend saw no losses taken by any State team, which is pretty impressive if you ask me. Some of those games were good ones, unlike a certain Super Bowl that happened last night.
Men’s Tennis defeats Miami (FL) and South Florida
The No. 3 tennis Bulldogs defeated the Hurricanes 4-1 and the Bulls 6-1 to move to 3-0 on the season. Their next match is at Texas Tech on Friday.
Women’s Tennis skunks Alcorn State
A 7-0 and 4-0 win in a double-header match helped the Lady Bulldogs become 4-2 in the 2019 season. Next up is a double-header match against Alabama State.
MBB beats Ole Miss
Commanding performances from Quinndary Weatherspoon (27 poitns) and Reggie Perry (21 points and 11 rebounds) lifted the Bulldogs over Ole Miss 81-75. State is now 16-5 (4-4 SEC). This is a huge win for the team’s morale, especially as it hosts No. 19 LSU on Wednesday, which will be on ESPN2.
Perry was named SEC Freshman of the Week for his performance.
WBB handles Alabama
Anriel Howard has 24 points, Teaira McCowan had 12 points and 12 rebounds and Jazzmun Holmes added 10 points in the Lady Bulldogs’ 65-49 win over the Crimson Tide.
Darius Washington decommits from MSU
The three-star offensive tackle announced he wouldn’t be attending State. According to 247 Sports, his decision should be between Florida State and Miami (FL).
Baseball dismisses Denver McQuary from team
MSU didn’t provide any details of the dismissal, but McQury was set to have a decent role on the team.
What did you guys think of the Super Bowl last night? Yes, it was a snooze feast, but personally I love defensive battles. That’s probably why I love watching Virginia basketball...
Have a good day and Hail State!
