STARKVILLE, Miss. — After an impressive 2019 season where the Mississippi State baseball program finished 52-15 and reached the NCAA College World Series for the 11th time in program history, 10 Diamond Dawgs are playing summer baseball in various leagues around the nation.
The sophomore trio of Tanner Allen, Rowdey Jordan and Jordan Westburg were all scheduled to play for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League with former Mississippi State baseball head coach Ron Polk this summer, however Allen and Westburg are currently attending the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Trials. Sophomore Justin Foscue was also scheduled to play in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Wareham Gatemen, but Foscue is also currently at the Collegiate National Team trials.
Freshman catcher Luke Hancock is playing for the High Point-Thomasville Hi-Toms of the Coastal Plain League, while freshman catcher Hayden Jones is playing for the Newport Gulls of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
Freshmen Bryce Brock, Eric Cerantola and Landon Jordan will all be playing for the Amsterdam Mohawks of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
The 10th and final Diamond Dawg, freshman Hunter Blalock, will be spending this summer playing for the Strasburg Express of the Valley League.
