We are one day closer to Mississippi State football. The 2019 season kicks off for the Bulldogs in 19 days, so let’s take a look at #19 Collin Duncan.
Duncan is a freshman athlete from Montgomery, Alabama, playing both sides of the ball at St. James School. The 6-foot, 195-pound athlete was rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals. He also ranked as the 16th-best player in the state of Alabama and the 44th-ranked cornerback in the country by 247Sports, however he will be playing safety for the Bulldogs this year.
He recorded 63 tackles and a pair of interceptions as a senior at St. James. He also finished his senior campaign with 12 rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns. He helped the Trojans to a 10-2 record and was named to the Montgomery Advisor’s All-State first team and the Class 1A-4A All-Metro football team for his efforts during the season.
The Montgomery native intercepted one pass as a junior to go along with five rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns. Duncan showed off his ball-hawking skills as a sophomore, collecting a career-high five interceptions.
Heading into the 2019 season, Duncan shows some real promise at the safety position, and will be a newcomer to keep an eye on, and someone who can make an immediate impact on this Bulldogs team.
