What should we expect from Mississippi State defensive tackle Lee Autry?

Set for a career year, Autry will have much to prove come Saturday.

As Mississippi State has produced star after star at defensive tackle, Autry will have to meet high expectations.

Autry boasts a similar skillset to his older brother Denico, a former Bulldog and now NFL starting defensive tackle for the Indianapolis Colts. He will be replacing Jeffery Simmons, as Autry has big shoes to fill. Like Simmons and tackles prior, Autry will be relied on to anchor the Bulldogs’ front.

While Autry did not play much in 2018, the senior now has an opportunity to make his name. Having gained experience and receiving the proper mentorship, Autry is in prime position to lead this year’s group. Look for Autry to be a disruption in the run game.

Though his stat line may not have mind-blowing numbers this year, Autry will make his presence felt. Speed and versatility are key factors in today’s game and Autry must add both to his skillset. That said, expect Autry’s impact to be immediate.
