A Letter To Mr. Cohen

Thankful for Mr. Cohen taking his sweet time to find the right guy... (hopefully)

Mr. Cohen, I know you have been catching a lot of flack during the coaching search, whether it is from people thinking you missed out on your main guy or someone thinking you wouldn’t budge on a dollar amount, but I for one would like to say this, thank you. Thank you for the hard work you are undoubtedly putting into this search. Thank you for the nights of lost sleep that I’m sure you are dealing with due to the constant plane rides, interviews, and stress of this search.

I don’t know if the rumors of all these interviews of all these coaches are true because you have kept your word and have kept this pretty close to the vest, but I do know you are working your butt off to find the perfect guy to become the next head coach of Mississippi State University. You are in a tight spot. You had to fire a guy who everyone liked as a person, after just two years. That can’t be easy, but now you have to replace him and ensure to yourself that you won’t have to do this again in another two years. That’s tough, and I can only imagine how stressful that is.

I’m sure you don’t read what these message board heroes have to say about you, and of course, most of them think they could do a better job. But there is a reason they are sitting in their recliner behind a computer screen, and you are spending countless hours to better this program. You are the man for this job. I know it in my heart, and I hope you realize how thankful us as bulldog fans are for the work and effort you are putting into this. Despite who you hire, it’s settling to know that we have an AD that loves this university as much as other fellow bulldogs and I do.

Thanks, John!
