With the 2020-21 season around the corner, Mississippi State earns the recognition it deserves, as the Bulldogs boast one of the nation’s most lethal squads.

Under the stewardship of new head coach Nikki McCray-Penson, this year’s team is deep with a lethal combination of experience and talent.

Though last season ended in a disappointing loss to archrival South Carolina, the Bulldogs showed signs of promise, sure to transfer into 2020-21. Formidable on both sides of the ball, look for a more mature team this year.

With high expectations and one of the most unusual seasons ahead, McCray-Penson will have many weapons at her disposal, most notably the trio of point guard Myah Taylor, center Jessika Carter and forward Rickea Jackson. As depth is essential, more names to note are Aliyah Matharu, Yemiyah Morris and Xaria Wiggins, who carried last year’s second unit.

Headlined by a pure floor general in Taylor, an imposing paint presence in Carter and a pure scorer in Jackson, expect the Bulldogs to make a statement early.

Hail State!
