Pops/Son Pick ‘Em Challenge: SEC Week 8

New, 21 comments

Managing Editor, Landon Young, collaborates with his father, Gerald Young, on this week’s SEC pick ‘em challenge.

On Saturday’s newest segment, managing editor, Landon Young, does this week’s Southeastern Conference pick ‘em challenge with his father, Gerald Young.

My father is the reason I am so crazy about Mississippi State sports. He brought me home from the hospital when I was born in a No. 1 Mississippi State jersey. Growing up, we woke up early every Saturday and watched ESPN College GameDay together while drinking some fresh coffee. This week’s cover picture was taken at the beaches of Destin, Florida, a long, long time ago. Every week, I call him before Saturday and we discuss who will win this Saturday inside the SEC. We will discuss betting lines, close games, and winners each week.

Let’s PICK ‘EM:

Vanderbilt at Kentucky (-17)

Pops: I’m actually taking Vandy in this one. To not only cover, but I think they win this game.

Son: I’m taking Vandy to cover the (-17), but I think Kentucky wins this one handily.

Arkansas at Florida (-17.5)

Pops: Arkansas will cover in this one. UF is coming off a huge win last week and I expect there to be somewhat of a letdown.

Son: I also expect Arkansas to cover... maybe even win, but I won’t take it that far just yet.

South Carolina at Ole Miss (-11)

Pops: Ole Miss wins and covers. South Carolina had a poor showing vs. Texas A&M.

Son: Ole Miss wins... I’ll take SC to cover in this one to make SEC Week 8 interesting.
