STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Southeastern Conference announced on Monday that Mississippi State’s Homecoming game against Vanderbilt for Saturday has been moved up to 2:30 p.m. CT, while Week 8’s home game against No. 24 Auburn will be played at 3 p.m. CT. Both games will air on SEC Network.

The homecoming game, previously scheduled for 3 p.m. CT, features a 1-4 Bulldogs team taking on an 0-4 Vanderbilt Commodores team. The Bulldogs have lost four games in a row after opening the season with a 44-34 win over the LSU Tigers. The Commodores opened the season with a 17-12 loss to Texas A&M, and have now lost their last three games by 30-plus points with losses to LSU (41-7), South Carolina (41-7) and Ole Miss (54-21).

Head coach Mike Leach’s Air Raid offense has failed to produce more than 14 points since Week 1. Mississippi State is coming off a 41-0 loss to No. 2 Alabama, marking the first time Leach has been blanked in his head coaching career.

MSU’s second game of the two-game homestand will have the Bulldogs welcoming the Auburn Tigers fresh off a bye week. The Tigers have been victorious in back-to-back weeks after falling 30-22 to South Carolina in Week 4. They beat Ole Miss 35-28 and dominated LSU 48-11. Last year, Auburn beat MSU 56-23.
