Mississippi State Football: Which Bulldog wideout shined brightest in Saturday’s win?

NCAA Football: Vanderbilt at Mississippi State Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports

In a statement victory over Vanderbilt, wide receiver Osirus Mitchell shined on the homecoming stage.

At 6-foot-5, 210 pounds, Mitchell’s height advantage creates an immediate mismatch along the sidelines. As he found the end zone and was a headache for the Commodores’ defensive backfield.

Following a career game against LSU with 183 yards and two touchdowns, there has been a drop off. And although Mitchell’s stat line did not jump off the screenin Saturday’s win over Vanderbilt, his four receptions for 32 yards were vital and are a positive sign of things to come.

While this season has proven to be a rollercoaster, it is not over. The Bulldogs have four opportunities to play spoiler. Look for Mitchell to be a part of it and fill the stat line in the coming weeks.

Hail State!
