No. 6 Mississippi State upset by No. 18 Kentucky 73-62

Outplayed on both ends of the floor, the Bulldogs suffered their fourth loss of the year. MSU Athletics

While they are a relatively young team with proven promise, the Bulldogs were unexpectedly exposed by the Wildcats.

Having accumulated just two fouls, Jessika Carter posted 18 points and six boards. Rickea Jackson added 16 and seven. Though Myah Taylor was held to just two points, her assist game was on point, as she posted nine.

That said, the Bulldogs had no answer for Wildcat phenom Rhyne Howard. Howard filled the stat line with 26 points and 10 boards. Guard duo Jaida Roper and Chasity Patterson combined for 29.

As the Bulldogs could not contain the Wildcats defensively, they struggled on the offensive end as well. Expect Vic Schaefer to make some adjustments in the lineup and have a different look on Thursday, as the Bulldogs travel to Auburn to take on the Tigers.

Hail State!
