With five seconds to go, Megan Abrams took it upon herself to hand the Bulldogs their fifth loss of the season on a game winning tip in.

As Mississippi State had no answer for the Jasmine Walker and Jordan Lewis, who combined for 37 points, Walker with 20 and Lewis with 17, the Tide took advantage throughout the game. Jessika Carter posted a Double double that included 18 points and 12 boards. Carter added three blocks and kept herself out of foul trouble, having accumulated just two. Rickea Jackson added 15 points but just four rebounds.

Xaria Wiggins was a factor off the bench on both ends of the floor. While she had nine points and three steals, Wiggins picked up a crucial foul late. The Tide made the most of it, having taken a 64-63 lead with 1:19 to go.

Down by one, Andra Espinoza-Hunter was fouled and headed to the line. While she made one of two free throws, Alabama inbounded the ball in the front court and simply broke the Bulldogs hearts.
