Led by star senior Jordan Danberry, Mississippi State was off and running from opening tip and never looked back.
Danberry was a force from midrange, having posted 19 points. That said, she did have six turnovers. Expect Danberry to fix that issue and further galvanize teammates in crucial situations going forward.
As Vic Schaefer took Rickea Jackson out of the starting lineup, he decided to go small, having replaced her with guard Aliyah Matharu. Matharu had a career night, as she filled the stat line with 18 points, four assists, and seven boards. Chloe Bibby and Andra Espinoze-Hunter combined for 24 points.
Jessika Carter, who recorded yet another Double double was a force down low. Carter led the team in points with 21 and rebounds with 11. Carter added a steal and a pair of blocks.
With that being said, Razorback guard Alexis Tolefree went off with 30 points, eight rebounds, and four steals. Though the Bulldogs had no answer for her in the first half, they imposed their will when needed and became too big an obstacle for Tolefree.
The Bulldogs will head to Oxford to take on Ole Miss this Sunday. Expect big things offensively.
Hail state!
