Mississippi State Football: What should we expect from C.J. Morgan this year?

An experienced, versatile safety, Morgan will headline the Bulldogs secondary. Hard-hitting and opportunistic, he is lethal in the open field. With his 2019 junior campaign cut short via injury, Morgan comes into 2020 motivated for a career year.

In 2019 Morgan accumulated 59 total tackles, 31 solos. He added an interception and broke up nine passes. Morgan boasts a combination of speed and finesse, capable of keeping up with wideouts or being a disruption in the opposing backfield.

Though overlooked, Morgan’s impact is undeniable. If able to stay healthy, he can be a gamechanger. The Bulldogs will need him for all 13 games, as they look to rebound from last year’s record. Expect big things from Morgan this season.
