Mississippi State Football: Why Kylin Hill can become the nation’s top back in 2020

The SEC and beyond have a star at running back, as Hill looks to position himself into a category of his own.

A hybrid back who boasts the speed, power, and pass-catching ability necessary to excel in today’s game, Hill has the requisite weapons needed to flourish.

In 2019, Hill accumulated 1,350 yards on the ground, 180 in the air. Expect similar numbers but with higher receiving yards, as Leach’s offense will be pass-heavy. At 5-foot-11, 215 pounds, Hill’s frame, coupled with his versatile skillset, separates him from the norm.

Experienced and battle-tested, Hill should shine and possibly have his best season as a Bulldog. Though Leach’s offense will not rely on the run nearly as much as Moorhead’s, Hill will still be its front face.

As he posted 11 total touchdowns in 2019, look for 15 or more in 2020. For the Bulldogs to have a respectable record, Hill will have to be at his best. He should jump out of the gate and take the college football world by storm, ultimately making a case to be the best back in the game.

Hail State!
