#1 Day Until Mississippi State Football: Martin Emerson

ONE. DAY. REMAINING.

NCAA Football: Alabama at Mississippi State Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports

Sophomore Martin Emerson plays cornerback and wears No. 1 for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Emerson hails from Pine Forest High School in Pensacola, Florida, where he was a three-star recruit and offered by 28 schools, the first of which was Mississippi State.

Since coming to State, Emerson has made use of the training facilities and nutrition experts, building himself to a chiseled 6-foot-2, 196 pounds. Emerson played in all 13 games as a true freshman last year and started in five. He was chosen as a Pro Football Focus Honorable Mention All-American.

Emerson fell in love with State the first time he came to visit in 2017. Since becoming part of the Dawg Nation, he has loved every minute of the school, campus, cowbells and diehard State fans. Saturday afternoon, Martin will start at cornerback for the Dawgs and it will be a game that always stirs the emotions of when he first fell in love with the program. You’ll see on Saturday that the Bulldogs dominated their opponent, both physically and mentally, leaving no doubt that they had been underestimated as they won 37-7!

Who did State play that day? You got it, LSU.

Have a great game Emerson. We will have the CLANGA going for all of you, so why not get us at least one pick-six?!

Hail State!!!!
