STARKVILLE, Miss. — The No. 6 Mississippi State baseball team is set to host the Tulane Green Wave for a three-game series at Dudy Noble Field beginning on Friday at 4 p.m. CT.

The series continues at 2 p.m. on Saturday and will conclude with a 1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday. All three games will air on SEC Network+.

The Bulldogs (3-1, 0-0 SEC) opened the season with a pair of wins over ranked teams for the first time since 1993. MSU topped then-No. 9 Texas in the season opener and then-No. 4 Texas Tech in the tournament finale at the State Farm College Baseball Classic.

MSU enters the weekend series with the Green Wave after a 7-3 win over Jackson State on Wednesday. Sophomore Kamren James led the offense in that game with four hits and three RBIs.

The Bulldogs are batting .287 as a team with junior Luke Hancock leading the way with a .467 batting average.

Tulane (2-2, 0-0 AAC) opened its season with a 2-1 win over Louisiana-Lafayette before dropping the final two games of the series (9-8, 9-7). All three games went into extra innings. The Green Wave then defeated New Orleans 7-1 on Tuesday behind two hits and three RBIs from redshirt sophomore Collin Burns.

Redshirt sophomore Jared Hart leads Tulane with a .400 batting average, while Burns is second at .368 with a team-high seven hits.

The weekend series marks the 110th meeting between the two programs on the diamond with the Bulldogs owning a 76-31-2 edge. MSU and Tulane are two of the 13 founding members of the Southeastern Conference and met 80 times as conference opponents. The Bulldogs and Green Wave last met in 1998 in the final game of the Winn-Dixie Showdown with MSU winning 4-1.
