2014 Lafayette Regional, Day 3: Championship Sunday Open Thread, Updated Bracket and Results

Today the three remaining teams will fight to either play into Monday or be named champions of the Lafayette Regional. Can Jackson State surprise Louisiana yet again, or will the consensus No. 1 avoid becoming the third national seed to be eliminated? Will either team have enough to knock off Mississippi State twice?

Wow, what a thrill ride this regional has been.  With three teams still in the mix for a championship in the Lafayette Regional, anything could happen over the course of today and possibly tomorrow. Of course, we State fans are pumped that our own Bulldogs are in the regional driver's seat and will have to be beaten twice to be unseated as regional champion. Before we take a look at today's games, let's get a quick recap of yesterday's scores and how we got to this point:

Friday Games

(1) UL-Lafayette 0, (4) Jackson State 1
(2) Mississippi State 5, (3) San Diego State 2

Saturday Games

(1) UL-Lafayette 9,  (3) San Diego State 2 (San Diego State eliminated)
(2) Mississippi State 3, (3) Jackson State 1
