Diamond Dawg Fan Day Set For February 7th

Instead of a first pitch banquet this season, the Mississippi State baseball team will hold a fan day free to the public

The Mississippi State Diamond Dawgs recently announced plans for an inaugural baseball fan day. The event will be held February 7th from 10 a.m. to noon in the Palmeiro Center. It will take the place of the annual first pitch banquet, which will not be held this year.

Fan Day will have 2015 schedule posters, autograph and photograph opportunities with the players and coaches, and a kids' zone. It is free to the public.

At the conclusion of the event, an open scrimmage will be held at Dudy Noble Field. So bring the kids, meet the players, and enjoy an early sneak peek at the 2015 Diamond Dawgs.

The Bulldogs return 17 players from last year's 39-24 team that advanced to the Lafayette Regional final. They were ranked 20th in the first preseason poll of 2015 by Collegiate Baseball.

Opening Day will be February 13th at the Dude against Cincinnati.
