D1Baseball and Baseball America, the two polls we will follow here at For Whom the Cowbell Tolls for the 2015 season, have released their rankings following the first weekend of college baseball. After an impressive showing, the Bulldogs rose in one poll while holding serve in another.
Previously unranked in the D1Baseball Poll, the Dogs climbed into the top 25 at #24, helped in part by Nebraska and Tennessee dropping two out of three games over the weekend.
There was little change for the SEC, as Vandy, Florida, South Carolina, and LSU held their original spots in the top 10. Texas A&M climbed one spot to #16, while Ole Miss and Alabama held their respective spots at 18 and 20.
Mississippi State remained #14 in the Baseball America Poll, which was originally the Bulldogs highest spot in the preseason. The full polls can be found below:
Mississippi State's Tuesday game with Mississippi Valley State has been cancelled due to possible winter weather. The Bulldogs will return to action Friday at 6:30 p.m. against Marshall.
