Mississippi State Ranked #22 in NCBWA Poll

Baseball fans received both good news and bad news today. The Bulldogs received another top 25 ranking, but they will be without a key member of the offense to start off the season.

The final poll has been released before the start of the 2015 College Baseball season. NCBWA ranked the Bulldogs 22nd in its first rankings of the year.

That places the Bulldogs in the top-25 in five of the six major polls. Their lowest ranking in those five polls was 25th, while their highest was 14th.

To make things simpler throughout the season, we will follow the D1 Baseball and Baseball America rankings here at For Whom the Cowbell Tolls.

Mississippi State will open the season this Friday against Cincinnati without starting catcher Gavin Collins.

Collins, who hit .304 and started 45 games behind the dish last season, will miss the first three to five weeks of the season. He had surgery to repair a bone in his left hand.
