MSU Baseball: Updated Rankings

After splitting a midweek series with Western Kentucky and losing two of three to Alabama, MSU is creeping down the rankings of the major polls.

The new baseball rankings are out after teams across the country opened conference play this weekend. As expected, MSU fell in the polls after a 2-3 record over the past week.

The Dogs fell all the way out of the D1Baseball Poll, where they were ranked #22 last week.

D1Baseball ranked five SEC teams in the top six in the country. Florida (#1), LSU (#3), Vanderbilt (#4), Texas A&M (#5), and South Carolina (#6) all represent the SEC in the top 10.

The Bulldogs only fell five spots in the Baseball America Poll to #20.

All five SEC teams were in the top six in that poll as well, with LSU claiming the top spot and Florida being #2.

MSU plays yet another game at Dudy Noble this Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. against Eastern Illinois before hitting the road next weekend to play Kentucky in Lexington.
