It seems like just yesterday we were anxiously awaiting September 1st: when college football would return to our everyday lives and all would be right again in the world. Now, here we sit, with college football's regular season complete, and listfully wishing it was September again. But the good news is that before college football goes into hibernation for the winter, we get to enjoy bowl season.
Before we take a look at the staff's bowl selections, let's take a look back at how the standings turned out for the 2012 regular season.
After holding the top spot for nearly the entire 2012 season, Winston County's Finest relinquished his stranglehold on the #1 spot, as he finished tied with T Braden Bishop for first place. C.G. Mosley and myself finished tied for 3rd (C.G. got an extra win for picking the Alabama-Georgia game the closest), with JLgrindin, Metal Building Dawg, Justin Sutton, and Rob Nola Dog rounding out the rest of the standings.
Although we (for the most part) only picked SEC games during the regular season, we decided that it would be fun to pick the entire bowl set of games this year. 35 games means anything can happen in the standings above, and we've made some internal wagers to ensure that it's a competitive picking contest in our final one of the season.
Once all the bowl games are complete and we've tallied up everyone's correct and incorrect picks for the season, we'll let the winner come on the blog and take a victory lap, to gloat and relish the joy that comes with being the best picker in our little corner of the internet. Now, let's take a look at these bowl picks, shall we?
Well, what do you guys think? Do you agree with our picks? Disagree? Either way, we're certainly glad football is back (for a few weeks, at least)
