Dak Prescott enters Heisman odds for 2014 at 50/1

In early, early betting, Dak Prescott is at 50/1 odds to win the 2014 Heisman.

College football's 2013 season has only been finished for a few weeks now, and already we're seeing early preparations and information released for 2014's season, which is still months away.  Part of that information released almost a year in advance is a list of early Heisman betting odds.

As expected, defending Heisman winner and national champion Jameis Winston opens up as a 2/1 favorite to repeat as a winner, and other well known names such as Marcus Mariota, T.J. Yeldon, and Todd Gurley have joined Winston near the top of early voting odds lists.  In addition to all the regulars, one name was added to the odds list today that MSU fans might find interesting -- Bulldog QB Dak Prescott.

Since leading the 44-7 demolishing of Rice in the Liberty Bowl on New Year's Eve, Dak's name has been mentioned in numerous places as the proverbial "dark-horse" candidate for the coveted trophy.  Today, a number was attached to that dark-hose candidate's odds of winning the Heisman -- 50 to 1.

It will be interesting to see where those odds go from now until the trophy is presented at the end of this season.  Despite the season still being so far away, it's nice to see Dak getting attention nationally that State fans think he deserves.
