Bovada came out with its early 2015 Heisman Trophy odds, and Dak Prescott is high on the list.

According to odds makers, Prescott starts out next season as the second favorite player to win the Heisman, behind Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott's odds are set at 6/1, while Prescott is listed at 7/1.

Three other SEC players made the top 10, including LSU running back Leonard Fournette, who tied with Prescott at 7/1. Georgia running back Nick Chubb and Alabama running back Derrick Henry are the other two SEC players with favorable odds to win the trophy. They are listed at 12/1 and 14/1, respectively.

Interestingly, former Mississippi State running back Josh Robinson, who already declared for the NFL Draft, is listed at 22/1. That one is a head scratcher.

It's a good place to start out for Dak, who finished eighth in this past year's Heisman Trophy race. He will easily be the best returning quarterback in the SEC, and if MSU can put together enough wins, you have to think he has a good chance of making it to New York in 2015.

He certainly had the numbers this year. Before the season, most people would have thought 4,435 total yards and 41 touchdowns would be enough to propel him to New York. Turnovers down the stretch and losing three of the last four games killed his chances.

It's just one more thing Dak can use to fuel the fire going into his senior season. Team accomplishments will always come first to him, but don't think for a second that his fall from Heisman front-runner to an eighth place finish isn't still in the back of his mind.
