The Bulldogs will begin the 2013 football season in the Texas Kickoff Classic at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. Ir was announced earlier in the week that the game will be televised on ABC and ESPN2. ABC will be the primary channel carrying the game, with ESPN2 picking up coverage in other markets. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 31st, 2013.
Oklahoma State, winners of the 2013 Heart of Dallas Bowl, will oppose Mississippi State in the Big 12/SEC battle owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television. OSU and MSU have met only four times in their respective histories, including the most recent matchup, a 29-11 Bulldog victory in Starkville on September 18th, 1999. OSU will serve as the home team in the Kickoff Classic.
All MSU fans are encouraged to purchase tickets through MSU's ticket office. MSU has a 10,500 ticket allotment for the game and is responsible for selling the full allotment. All tickets will be sold in Bulldog Club priority rank and remaining tickets will be sold to the public pending availability.
