The women win in the WNIT, baseball prepares for a big weekend test, spring practice starts, and more.

Well, they don't call it March Madness for nothing! Yesterday kicked off the first full day of action in the annual craziness known as the men's NCAA tournament, and the opening day action was no disappointment. There were upsets everywhere, including the 12 seeds ruling the day. Get your full recap here, if you are trying to get caught up before day two begins.

Bulldogs Down Tulane In WNIT Opener, Host USM Monday At 7 -

Five Lady Dawgs scored in double figures as the women's basketball team (20-13) cruised to a 77-68 win over Tulane in the first round of the Women's NIT. They will host Southern Miss (27-6) on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Hump. Go support them if you can!

Bulldogs Welcome Vanderbilt To Town For SEC Home Opener -

The Diamond Dogs (15-8) take on the Vanderbilt Commodores (19-3) in a big series this weekend at Dudy Noble. Tonight's game will be on CSS, and tomorrow night's will be broadcast on ESPNU.

No. 22 MSU Men's Tennis Returns Home To Host LSU On Friday -

After being on the road seemingly forever, the men's tennis team returns home this afternoon to take on the LSU Tigers. It should be a pretty day, so if you're in town go watch them in action!

Bulldogs Travel To Auburn For Third SEC Series -

After two tough conference-opening series, the softball Bulldogs travel to the Plains to take on Auburn this weekend.

New restaurants, hotel will complement Mill project - Columbus Dispatch

As you may have noticed from my post yesterday on the subject, I'm pretty pumped about the Mill at MSU kicking off after a decade of discussion and revision. Turns out that more is known about the project than what I included yesterday, including that it will have a Holiday Inn as a part of the development, and some restaurants have already been announced.
