We're just now getting into the month of June, and already Mississippi State football is assembling one of the best recruiting classes in school history. The Bulldogs had already gotten a big jump on next February's haul with early commits from guys like Cam Myers, Jay Johnson, Dontea Jones and Timothy Washington, and after a big Thursday you can add three more new names to that list.
The third big name to make his commitment on the day was Pinson, Alabama defensive lineman Kendell Jones, who told Bulldawgs 247's Paul Jones that Mississippi State just felt like home:
"I wanted to commit now. I just love it there and every time I go to Mississippi State it feels like home and the coaches show me a lot of love. Coach (Geoff) Collins told me again yesterday he wanted be to be a Dawg. So I just decided to go ahead and do it tonight."
The 6'4", 240 lb Jones held other early offers from Louisville, Memphis, and Middle Tennessee State, but the talented Alabama native was just starting to heat up in the recruiting world. He recently participated in an NFTC event in the Birmingham area where he was invited to Nike's The Opening, a highly selective all-star summer prospect camp. That invitation alone speaks to Jones' potential, and it could also mean that he has a bigger stage on which to shine, which could attract additional suitors down the road heading towards February. Still, it seems for now that Jones will shut down his recruitment and plans to head to MSU.
Jones said that he's done with his recruitment, visits and camps. The only trips he'll be taking are to MSU including his official.

Jones' commitment gives MSU 16 total for the 2015 class, and bumps the rating up to 8th in the nation on 247 sports composite, which of course is good for 6th best in the SEC.
