When Texas A&M joined the SEC they immediately doubled the amount of SEC teams State has a winning record over....it went from one (Vanderbilt) to two. MSU leads the series 3-2.

Notice this year's game will be the first in Mississippi. Both schools have a lot in common, and even more this year with MSU #15, A&M #16 and both jockeying for 3rd best team in the West and bowl positioning.

The marquee game is obviously the 2000 Independence Bowl which will be remembered by Mississippi State on Saturday.
