Freshman guard Madison Hayes has looked the part thus far, as she is proving to be a reliable component of the Bulldogs’ second unit.

In her season debut, Hayes posted eight points and nine rebounds in 22 minutes. Hayes is a score first guard with range. Also able to get through the lane and crash the boards, Hayes has the necessary tools to form an all-around game.

Hayes’ ceiling is high and she will have plenty of opportunities going forward. Expect head coach Nikki McCray-Penson to call her number more often than not.

Like fellow guard Aliyah Matharu, Hayes is a streaky shooter. Look for her to expand her range. McCray-Penson and company will be ready come Monday and Hayes should see the floor for north of 22 minutes.

Hail State!
