Torbush To Kansas, Huspeth Staying Put

The news is now official: Carl Torbush is the DC at Kansas. He was announced by Turner Gill during his press conference yesterday. Mullen, who has been out on the road recruiting this week (he was in Meridian monday), has already released an official statement on the Torbush departure.

"We wish Carl the best in his future endeavors," Mullen was quoted as saying in the statement. "We've already begun a search for his replacement that will be a good fit on our staff in both defensive philosophy and as an aggressive recruiter. Our focus right now - as always - is recruiting the best players in the state of Mississippi to represent their state university."

The other rumor that was out there this past week was that Mark Hudspeth was talking to ULM about their head coaching vacancy. It looks like ULM has found their man in Todd Berry. Berry was an assistant at ULM from 2004 to 2005. His last stop on the coaching trail was as quarterbacks coach at UNLV.
