With all the football news flying around this past weekend, we overlooked a big event. Mississippi State won the College Men's 4x400 and 4x200 Championship of America by only a few seconds over Texas A&M. Here is the breakdown of times for the 4x400. The team won with a combined time of 3:04.92
- O'Neal Wilder (46.5)
- Tavaris Tate (45.2)
- Dwight Mullings (46.20)
- Emmanuel Mayers (47.03)
Video of the race is available. Watching the video, you can clearly see that the baton drop by Texas A&M at the start of the 4th lap is what gave Mississippi State the win. Tabarie Henry outpaced Emmanuel Mayers, but came up about 3 steps short of the win.
In the 4x200, the Bulldogs barely won over Florida, with Tavaris Tate stretching out for the win and a time of 1:21.49. Florida finished with a time of 1:21.53. It was that close. Here is the video and results from the 4x200 race.
