Dee Bost Regains Eligibility, Suspended 9 Games by NCAA

Good news for MSU Basketball fans today. Dee Bost learned Wednesday that he will regain eligibility from the NCAA following a 9 game suspension. Bost is currently academically ineligible for the fall semester, so the 9 game suspension will begin when he become eligible in December.

Bost has been waiting for a decision from the NCAA after withdrawing from the NBA draft just hours after the May 8 deadline passed.

Dee Bost had this to say:

"I want to thank the NCAA for hearing my case and allowing me to return to school and play basketball," Bost said. "I only wanted to test the waters and then return to Mississippi State. I realize I made a huge mistake in how I handled the situation, and I am thankful for a second chance."

Head Coach Rick Stansbury had this comment:

"I’m happy for Dee and for our basketball program," MSU athletics director Scott Stricklin said. "Our compliance staff, led by Bracky Brett, has put a lot of time and effort into this process, and I appreciate the NCAA taking all the circumstances surrounding this case under consideration."

Bost started all 72 games of his career as a Bulldog. He is 140 points shy of 1,000 career points. Mississippi State is a preseason favorite to win the SEC West this year.
