Quay Evans Commits To Mississippi State

Mississippi State picked up a solid recruit Thursday with the announcement that standout defensive tackle Quay Evans, of Morton, committed to the Bulldogs over Alabama.

Evans (6-foot-2, 310-pounds) is rated as the top defensive tackle on Scout.com, who also gave him a 5-star rating. He is rated a 4-star by Rivals.

According to SBNation's Bud Elliot:

Evans is obviously very big, but he can also move, as his feet are very good for his size. He dominates his competition at the high school level, and he does without many moves at all. This is a big, athletic, raw kid.

Evans had this to say about his decision:

"I just know they're going to have the best guys coming to play for them," Evans said of MSU. "I want to be a part of it."

Evans said he picked MSU over Alabama because "I didn't want to just go somewhere and just be one of a number. I wanted to be remembered in my own state."
