Mullen On Recruiting Roll, Picks Up No. 14

Another day, another skill player for Mississippi State.

On Wednesday, Jim Hill (Jackson) wide receiver Fred Brown committed to Mississippi State after a stand-out performance at last weekend's Big Dawg Camp.

Since Jim Hill is arguably one of the worst programs in the state, it's easy to see how Brown got overlooked. That's why the summer camp circuit is priceless exposure for players like Brown. To the surprise of some, the 6-1, 166-pound receiver was a top performer at the Ole Miss elite camp earlier this month.

In three years time, including a redshirt season, Brown will provide the Bulldogs with depth and hopefully develop into a dependable possession receiver.

Read reports on Brown's commitment from The Clarion Ledger, Scout ($), 247Sports ($) and Rivals.
