Four starters return across the line, but that open spot on the left side has worried coaches since last year's Gator Bowl victory against Michigan. James Carmon, a senior who moved from defensive tackle in December, could be the starter for next Thursday's opener at Memphis. All the talk out of camp leans that way. But?

A few details on announced merger of Bulldog Club, Foundation | Mississippi State sports
It was announced today the Bulldog Foundation will soon be merging with the Bulldog Club, a venture set in motion this week after several discussions among the top brass at MSU. The merger is expected to be completed July 1, 2012 and the new private entity will be known simply as the Bulldog Club.
But why the merger? Why now?
"I think it confused people," athletics director Scott Stricklin said of the separate private entities. "It’s just easier to consolidate them."
Both groups had similar tasks, though the foundation was often looked upon by fans as the "elite" group of supporters.
