Mississippi State vs Memphis: Where To Watch //2011

It seems that the formula for figuring out where you can and cannot get the Mississippi State season opener on TV is almost as complicated as the BCS formula. Never fear, we are here to give you a run down of where you can watch the game whether it is from the comfort of your own home or with a group of Bulldog Alumni at a local watering hole.

According to an article released by the athletic department today, the game will be broadcast on SportSouth throughout the state of Mississippi, as well as on select Fox Sports Net (FSN) affiliates outside of the state. However, even in Mississippi, some areas will not get the game because the cable provider for that area does not carry SportSouth.

If you are on Comcast in Meridian, Hattiesburg or Tupelo, you do not get SportSouth as part of your cable package. The Meridian Star is reporting on their Facebook page that Comcast is trying to come up with a solution to show the game somehow.

If you are on CableOne in Gulfport, Biloxi, Pascagoula, McComb, Cleveland, Grenada, Natchez or Yazoo City, you are out of luck as well.

If you are a satellite subscriber in the state of Mississippi, the game will be on DirecTV 649 and Dish Network 437. AT & T Uverse also carries SportSouth in Mississippi.

If you are outside the state of Mississippi, you can watch the game on the following FSN affiliates:

  • SportSouth
  • FSN Arizona Plus
  • Detroit
  • Houston
  • Midwest
  • North / Wisconsin
  • Ohio
  • Southwest Plus
  • Prime Ticket
  • ROOT Sports Pittsburgh and Rocky Mountain
  • Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area and Mid-Atlantic Plus
  • Comcast Network, MSG Plus
