In his weekly Bulldog Update, Mississippi State AD Scott Stricklin put out some information about the number of tickets remaining for football games this year. If you don't already have tickets, you may want to get on the ball.
The only remaining opportunities to see Mississippi State football this fall at Davis Wade Stadium are from tickets returned to us by sister schools in the Southeastern Conference. Just 900 tickets are all that remain from the 2,000 sent back to us for the home opener against LSU, 2,000 are still available from the 2,500 returned by South Carolina, and now just 700 are left from the 2,000 returned by Ole Miss for the Egg Bowl.
It still amazes me that Ole Miss returned tickets, but then again they can't even sell out their home games, much less an away game, on a holiday weekend, against their "other" rival. It makes sense that LSU returned tickets (road game, thursday night, etc) and it is quite a drive from Columbia to Starkville. But...really, TSUN? Really?
Anyway, get your tickets before its too late because there is nothing like a crisp, fall afternoon, the sounds of thousands of cowbells, the smell of tailgating in the air, and some football...Mississippi State style!
Other tidbits to glean from the update:
- The team is staying at the Marriott East Hotel Wednesday night and will arrive around 8:45pm if you want to be there to greet them.
- They will arrive at the Liberty Bowl around 5pm Thursday night, but there will not be a traditional Dawg Walk due to logistics.
- They will be playing the game on the gigantotron at Davis Wade Stadium tomorrow night. Gates will open at 6:30pm.
