MSU Accepts Bid To NIT; Plays Tuesday Night (at Hump) vs. UMass

Not that a lot of people will put forth much effort in caring right now, but Mississippi State (shocker) has been invited to and accepted a bid to play in the Nation Invitational Tournament (NIT), held annually with the first losers out of the NCAA Tourney.

State (21-11) drew a #4 seed, and will face #5 seed University of Massachusetts (UMass) (22-11) Tuesday night at 7pm at Humphrey Coliseum. University officials tell us they expect literally TENS of people to attend. If the Bulldogs should survive against the Minutemen, they would move on to face the winner of Seton Hall and Stoney Brook.

If you're still reading, I thank you for putting forth the effort. We appreciate you guys stopping buy, even though it wasn't very easy.

Obviously, State is dissappointed at not making the NCAA Tournament this season. The year started strong and saw State climb even to within the top 15, only to fall hard, eventually losing 6 of their last 8. I don't know who else I speak for, but I really just wish they would have denied the NIT invite. People just want this nightmare season to be over.

You can find the full NIT bracket here, if you are so inclined to.
