After Fletcher Cox was drafted 12th overall in the first round of the NFL Draft Thursday night, the Dogs went without a draftee in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, which took place Friday. Yesterday the draft concluded with rounds 4-7, and 2 more talented Bulldog football players joined Fletcher on the list of draftees.

Mississippi State Running Back Vick Ballard was selected 170th overall in the 5th round by the Indianapolis Colts yesterday in the NFL Draft. Ballard heads to the NFL after contributing 29 TD's in 2 productive seasons for Mississippi State after beginning his career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Joining Ballard in being drafted on the final day was Safety Charles Mitchell, who was taken 22 spots behind Ballard at 192nd overall in the 6th round by the Atlanta Falcons. Mitchell was a 3 year starter for the Bulldogs, and was a rock solid part of the Bulldog defense in his 4 years on campus in Starkville.

Several Bulldogs who weren't drafted have reportedly tendered Free Agent contracts.

- According to former Bulldog OL James Carmon's twitter account, he has signed a Free Agent contract with the Baltimore Ravens, his hometown team.

- Brandon Marcello reports that former Bulldog OL Quentin Saulsberry has tendered a Free Agent agreement with the Minnesota Vikings.

- Bulldog MLB Brandon Maye and his agent are negotiating with several teams at this time.

- Former Bulldog OL Addison Lawrence has supposedly been invited to a May 11th Mini Camp for the Seattle Seahawks.

We'll update you guys if any further developments come up.

Congratulations to all Bulldogs who were drafted and and who were picked up in the free agency process! We wish you guys all the best going forward, and thanks for your contributions to the Maroon and White.
