100 Days of MSU Football - Day 50

Halfway there, woohoo!

Today's post is about #50 Benardrick McKinney. A guy ahead of the curve - he has a double name that has no spaces.

McKinney will be a redshirt freshman in 2012, but he's put himself in position to get some significant playing time at linebacker. He was rated only a two-star out of high school by Scout, 3-star by Rivals and 24/7. I don't think too many people thought he'd be vying for a starting role this early. But according the the post spring depth chart, it's between him and sophomore Ferlando Bohanna for the final spot.

He hails from Tunica, MS where he also played quarterback his senior year at Rosa Fort HS. He threw 15 touchdowns and ran for 7 while making 66 tackles at LB. We'll see what McKinney can do in 2012 - he is someone to watch for.
