SEC Media Days is this week, so that means football is right around the corner! Time to come up with an All-SEC team; here are our picks for the defense.

*DL - Sam Montgomery (JR), LSU - This was an easy pick as he was 1st team All-SEC in 2011 and a 3rd team All-American. He spent most of his time last year at defensive end where he had 49 tackles (13.5 for loss) and nine sacks.
*DL - John Jenkins (SR), UGA - 6'-3", 351 pound beast at nose guard. Mark Richt got him out of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He had 28 tackles (8 for loss), three sacks and an INT in 2011.
DL - Josh Boyd (SR), MSU - Four-year starter at State. Had 51 tackles (8 for loss) and 4.5 sacks in 2011. For his career, Boyd has 92 tackles (17 for loss), 7.5 sacks and three QB hurries.
DL - Jadeveon Clowney (SO), USC - The former #1 overall recruit from the 2011 class was named SEC Freshman of the Year and 2nd team All-SEC by the coaches last season. He had 36 tackles (12 for loss), and 8 sacks from his defensive end spot.
*LB - C.J. Mosley (JR), BAMA - While splitting time with Nico Johnson and missing a couple of games due to injury he had 37 tackles (4.5 for loss), 2 sacks, one INT and 3 passes defended in 2011. Mosley played in all 13 games as a true freshman and was 3rd on the team with 67 tackles.
LB - Jarvis Jones (JR), UGA - 1st team All-SEC and 1st team All-American in 2011. He had 70 tackles (19.5 for loss), 13.5 sacks, two passes defended and two forced fumbles in his first year in Athens - sat out 2010 after transferring from Southern California.
[4-way tie) LB - Cam Lawrence (SR), MSU; Jon Bostic (SR), UF; Nico Johnson (SR), BAMA; Alonzo Highsmith (SR), ARK.
*DB - Johnthan Banks (SR), MSU - Four-year starter at State. Had 80 tackles (8 for loss), 3 sacks, 5 INTs, 13 passes defended, and 3 forced fumbles in 2011. 12 career interceptions.
*DB - Tyrann Mathieu (JR), LSU - 2011 1st team All-SEC and 1st team All-American, National Defensive Player of the Year (Bednarik Award) and Heisman Trophy Finalist. He had 76 tackles (7.5 for loss), 1.5 sacks, two INTs, 11 passes defended, 6 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries including two for a touchdown.
*DB - Eric Reid (JR), LSU - 2nd team All-SEC at free safety in 2011. Had 76 tackles (2 for loss), two INTs, 5 passes defended, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
DB - Robert Lester (SR), BAMA - Three-year starter at strong safety for the Tide. His numbers dropped off significantly last year (39 tackles, 2 INTs, 5 PD) from his sophomore season (52 tackles, 8 INTs, 12 PD).
