My boy, WinstonCountysFinest, will have a more thorough recap in a bit, but here are five quick thoughts on the Bulldogs' victory over Auburn.

1) The Bulldogs are alone in first place in the SEC West. That's right...Alabama, LSU, and others are looking up at the Bulldogs....really felt I should add that before it wasn't true anymore.

2)Yes, Auburn's offense looked woeful, but the Bulldogs helped with that. The defense could not have played better, forcing five turnovers and never giving Auburn a legit chance at the end zone.

3) The only thing that could be worrisome from this game is that it took the offense a half to get going. They survived that today. Can they do that against Tennessee (the next real challenge for Mississippi State)? Oh..and field goal kicking.

4) The poise of the Bulldogs showed through today. Tyler Russell looked calm in the pocket, even when it was falling apart around him. Marcus Green looked balls in and caught them. The team did not panic after Auburn returned the opening kick of the second half for a touchdown.

5) The crowd sounded great! Way to go to all of you at Davis-Wade.

I'll save the stats and more for Robbie...you won't want to miss it.
