After Bobby Wahl buzzed through the top of the 1st striking out the side between Hunter Renfroe reaching on an error. Then the rains came....big time. Play is suspended until 3 p.m. on Saturday where it will pick up with Ole Miss batting in the bottom of the 1st.
This sets up a pretty interesting scenario regarding the starting pitching in this series. Immediate reaction was: will Wahl, the SEC's leading pitcher, continue to pitch after throwing 15 pitches on Friday night?
#OleMiss says Wahl's status for Saturday will be determined by "feel." He may be done for the series. #Rebsbsb

I find it hard to believe that he won't pitch anymore in this series...it was only 15 pitches.
John Cohen has already stated that Luis Pollorena will pitch in one of the games Saturday. In reality, Pollo isn't in that much different of a situation than Wahl. While he didn't endure 15 pitches at max effort, he did prepare mentally and physically for a start and had the rug pulled out from under him. How many starting pitchers take a bullpen the day before their start? None.
If I was Cohen, I'd wait to start Pollo on Sunday for that reason. Yeah, he can probably go the 5-6 innings we need regardless, but I think he'll be a little fresher for the Mother's Day tilt.
As for Wahl, who knows what Bianco will do. I'd be tempted to do the same thing with him - start on Sunday. He may also come out of the bullpen as he did that plenty earlier in his career at OM.
