Dawgs Get Just One in Oxford, But it was a Good One.

The Rebels take 2 out of 3 in Oxford, but State walks away feeling good after a great comeback win.

Friday night's suspended game forced the SEC's leader in ERA, Bobby Wahl to start on Sunday's series finale. You'd think that would give MSU the advantage in a Saturday double dip, right? Wrong.

State played like crap on Saturday. I can't stomach recapping losses to Ole Miss...so I won't. Just know we lost 3-0 in Game 1 and 10-8 in Game 3.

Sunday's Mother's Day tilt featured more sloppy play from the Diamond Dawgs early. In the 1st inning, Adam Frazier mishandled a routine Sunday hop (pun intended) which gave them 2 runs, then Wes Rea made a terrible throw to the plate in the 3rd inning that led to a 3-run inning. All of the sudden we are down 6-0 and Wahl is notching zeros on the scoreboard.

Jacob Lindgren only went one inning in this game. One. He should've only given up one run but he was saddled with three because of the home-cooking on Frazier's error which was ruled a hit. Johnthan Holder was brought in in the 2nd inning. The 2nd inning. OM got him for 3 in the 3rd. But Chad Girado pitched a scoreless 4th and Ben Bracewell went 5 solid innings to end the game - a great performance that allowed MSU to come back.

In the 6th inning Wahl's pitch count went over 100 and the Bulldogs loaded the bases. After a bases loaded walk to Ammirati, Henderson singled home a run to make it 6-2.

Adam Frazier was having a rough game. He had that poor play in the 1st inning and another error in the 4th. But he made up for it. With the bases still loaded he poked a double that scored two.

Detz would get a sac fly to make it 6-5.

In the 7th inning Frazier came through again. With two outs he hit a single which scored the tying and go-ahead run. State would win by that score, 7-6.

Great comeback to salvage Game 3. Oral Roberts is up next on Tuesday.
